How about some Pinot Noir?

The first red wine I really learned to appreciate was Pinot Noir. We've been enjoying the Cabs so much lately that we haven't really been paying much attention to the Noirs, but I did enjoy a glass this past Friday night. We again were at Melito's (if I didn't mention this in the earlier post, one of the reasons we like Melito's so much is because it's smoke free. What a joy it is to enjoy a fan type place without the smoke. Those who do need to light up really don't seem to mind going outside to do the deed and then coming back into the bar). Rob's son Danny was with us as well ... the boys ordered a beer, I ordered a glass of Noir. Rob had discovered some time ago Heron Pinot Noir at Kroger. It's a nice price too -- about $10 per bottle.

Melito's happens to serve Heron wines. Knowing that it's only $10 at Kroger makes it hard to order sometimes out ($5 glass), but it was enjoyable neverless.

I think Heron makes other wines as well; I'll have to try some and report back.

I have to add a comment to my own post. After blogging about Heron the other day, I stopped at Kroger on my way home to pick up a bottle. It was about $12.50 or so. However, when you can catch it on sale, it's $10.
