If this blog had been a plant, pet, or child, it would have died by now from neglect. It's not because wine has not been consumed - rest assured, it has - I've just been busy with life and doing a very bad job of updating the blog.
Most recently, as in, last night, Rob and I shared a bottle of J. Lohr with friends. Through Facebook, I reconnected with a friend who I've known since second grade (I don't dare say he's an "old" friend, because that would say we're all old, and well, I'm not going to say that). Paul and his family are living in Germany right now, and are in town on business. It was great to see him and his wife and catch up. Some people "poo-poo" Facebook, and I'll admit it can be a time waster if you're not careful, but I've enjoyed reconnecting with people that I didn't really mean to "lose," but just kindof did throughout the years.
I always find sharing wine with friends to be the most fun. During the holiday season, it was fun to see the ya-ya's for our annual holiday lunch. This year, it was Lil, Evie, and I. We shared libations. They were good. I have no idea what they were at this point. Maybe I should rethink that "old" thing.
I also shared some libations with work friends for an end-of-the-year happy hour. It was a lot of fun until one of the head guys showed up. Something about drinking around the VP for Human Resources will keep you pretty sober.
One of the newest wines we have found recently is called Toasted Head - it's a Cab Sauv. I was looking for something else in the wine store, and this was a featured wine and came highly recommended. And it's good. The price is right too -- it's in the $10-$12 range. And there's a cool bear label on it.
Thanks for "bearing" with me as I get back into keeping this blog more up to date. As always, let me know if you have found a great wine! The more the merrier!
